김현우(Pixel) 작가의 2026년 개인전 '픽셀의 지도(Map of Pixels)'는

인간의 감정을 생동감 넘치는 시각적 풍경으로 구현한 몰입형 미디어 설치 작업이다.

디지털 이미지의 최소 단위인 ‘픽셀’로 세상을 바라보는 작가만의 독특한 시선을 담아낸 이 작품은,

관객의 감정적 흐름에 반응하며 색채와 움직임,

패턴이 끊임없이 변화하는 환경을 만들어 낸다.

전시 현장에서 이루어지는 실시간 상호작용을 통해

관객은 작품의 일부가 되는 능동적인 경험을 하게 된다.

관객의 표정과 감정 데이터는 역동적인 픽셀 형상으로 치환되어 전시 공간을 새롭게 재구성하며,

개별적인 감정들은 하나의 거대한 시각적 경험으로 어우러져

우리 모두의 감정이 투영된 변화무쌍한 지도를 그려낸다.

김현우 작가에게 픽셀은 단순한 디지털 요소를 넘어,

내면의 세계를 표현하고 전달하는 중요한 언어이다.

작가의 기존 드로잉 및 회화 작업에 현대 기술과 관객의 참여를 결합한 이 전시는

Hyunwoo (Pixel) Kim’s 2026 solo exhibition Map of Pixels is an immersive media installation

that transforms human emotion into a living visual landscape.

Drawing on the artist’s unique perception of the world through pixels

–the fundamental unit of digital imagery-

Hyunwoo Kim creates an evolving environment where color, movement, and pattern

respond to the emotional presence of the audience. 

Through real-time interaction during the exhibition,

the audience become active contributors to the artwork

 Facial expressions and emotional data are translated into dynamic pixel formations

that continuously reshape the exhibition space.

Individual feelings merge into a collective visual experience,

creating an ever-changing map of shared human emotion. 

For Kim, pixels are more than digital elements,

they are a language through which inner experiences can be expressed and communicated.

By combining his past drawings and paintings with technology and audience participation,

Map of Pixels offers a powerful exploration of perception, connections, and empathy. 

The exhibition invites viewers to move beyond passive observation

and become co-creators of a living artwork-one

that reveals how personal emotions can form unexpected connections

and generate new ways of understanding one another.

Through this collaborative process,

Map of Pixels becomes both a portrait of collective feelings

and a celebration of the diversity of human experience.
